I don’t expect very many people to remember the game that this song came from, let alone the particular song. For that reason I made a little mp3 of the original music from the arcade stand up machine which you can get by clicking [ here]. Combatribes was a game from 1990 similar to Double Dragon (it was by the same company). I remember playing it for the first time in an arcade during a trip to Wisconsin Dells. At the time I was amazed by the excessive violence that the game had for the time. Needless to say, pretty weak by today’s standards, but it is always fun to be able to kick the crap out of a clown. The original runs on a very short loop. This gave me some trouble in the form of trying to rework the song to fit 4+ minutes, without making it sound repetitive, which I feel that I successfully got around. Over the four months that I was working on this track, I ended up changing genre of music I wanted to be a few times, but none ever won out completely. What resulted was a mix of classical arrangement, shoegazer, guitar rock, and a bit of electronic-style percussion. All in all, it fits in with the mood of the other songs I have created.
